Deputy General Counsel

Heather K. Hosfeld was hired as the Assistant General Counsel of Lehigh University in May, 2004, promoted to Associate General Counsel in July, 2007, and as of July, 2013, holds the position title of Deputy General Counsel.  She assists Frank A. Roth, the University’s General Counsel, in providing legal counsel for the University, its Board of Trustees, President, officers, colleges, faculty, and academic and administrative departments.

Prior to joining Lehigh, Mrs. Hosfeld was an attorney at Bethlehem Steel Corporation from 2001 until its dissolution in December, 2003, and a corporate paralegal from 1995 through 2001. While at Bethlehem Steel, she worked as a generalist, with an emphasis in corporate transactions and governance, securities regulation and compliance, and employee benefits. Mrs. Hosfeld is also experienced in nonprofit law, including work in connection with the National Museum of Industrial History.

Mrs. Hosfeld received her Juris Doctorate degree in 2001 from Temple University, her Paralegal Certificate in 1995 from the Pennsylvania State University, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from Moravian College.

Mrs. Hosfeld is admitted to the bar of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is a member of the Pennsylvania, Northampton County, and Lehigh County Bar Associations. She is also a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
